Linda Howery Linda has been a group exercise instructor at Crossroads for 8 years. She teaches Step, Chisel, Water Exercise, Body-sculpting, Low-impact Aerobics, Kickboxing, Spin, and Senior fitness classes. She enjoys working with beginners that have made a decision to change their fitness direction, and those who have tried many times and have not yet been able to reach their fitness goals. Mesa State College: Human Performance and Wellness coursework AAAI/ISMA AFAA Johnny G Spinning Dwayne Horn Dwayne was born in Norfolk, Virginia but raised in Deming, New Mexico. He has been in athletics all his life, including playing basketball at Mesa State College, and loves working out. His passion for staying in shape is why he decided to become a personal trainer. He has been personal training for 4 years and a group instructor for 4 months. He has trained the likes of Hollywood actress Rachel McAdams from "The Notebook" and "Red Eye" and model Acy Brown. Dwayne is great with people and has a good time! His motto is, "Work hard, Play hard!" She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and Mesa State College. She was a member of the Mesa State Tennis team and continues to enjoy playing tennis. She is also very compassionate when it comes to running and she loves to endurance train. Laurie has experienced 5+ years in the Fitness Industry working at Crossroads Fitness and the YMCA in Colorado Springs, CO. She also worked for Biotest Laboratories, a Sports Supplement Company based out of Colorado Springs. She enjoys personal training as well as teaching Lifestyles Classes. She loves to work with all ages and specializes in fat loss, cardiovascular fitness, general strengthening, and rehabilitation. She is a strong believer in making exercise fun and making it a lifestyle for everyone! B.A. in Exercise Science, Mesa State College ACE Certification (American Council on Exercise)
Lisa Holmes Lisa has lived in Grand Junction for 20 years. Fitness has been a part of her life since she was young. She has been weight training for 16 years, taught classes at Crossroads for 5 years and now is Personal Training! Her specialties are strength training and building relationships with her clients so that they feel comfortable being in a gym atmosphere and hopefully continue a healthy lifestyle. B.A.
Wendy White Wendy, a native of Colorado has lived in the Grand Valley for 11 years. She has over 25 years of weight lifting experience and has been teaching group exercise since 1982. Wendy loves road biking and raced with Women On Wheels U.S.C.F. team 1990 through 1993. Her 145 pound Great Pyrenees Angus keeps busy and out of trouble when she's not training or spinning. B.S. Rebecca Felix Rebecca has focused on fitness since her first body-building class in high school. She continued to take weight-training and health classes in college and has been an AFAA certified fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 9 years. She started personal training at the World Gym in Colorado Springs, where she was also the group exercise coordinator. She combines her experience in personal training and group exercise with her degree in psychology for a comprehensive approach to fitness. Rebecca enjoys working with men and women of all levels, but particularly those who have been inactive and are looking to commit to a healthy lifestyle change. Her approach is one in which clients make incremental, weekly goals to achieve their ultimate objectives. She also like to teach clients the skills they need to be able to work out effectively on their own. B.A. Psychology, University of Colorado AFAA Group Exercise Primary Certification Certified Personal Trainer Melissa Briscoe Melissa has 5 years experience as a personal trainer, 1 year as a Rehabilitation Aide, 5 years Sports Medicine Intern, and 1 year as a Rehabilitation Intern. She specializes in functional training, body awareness, posture training, injury rehab, and sport specific training.
Beth Nelson Beth is from Georgetown, Colorado. She decided to become a personal trainer because sports and fitness have always been a big part of her life. She enjoys helping others reach their potential and goals. She has 3 years experience in Personal Training, 4 years coaching volleyball, 3.5 years Adaptive Training, and has been a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard for 2 years. She specializes in strength training/core, balance, flexibility, and interval/circuit training. B.A. Kinesiology/Corporate Fitness, Mesa State College Emergency Responder CHSAA coaching certification
